Being stuck. A creative block. Taking a break. Whatever you want to call it, it seems there’s no cure like the cure that comes from hanging with a bunch of your own creative kind for a weekend.
Months ago, plans were put in place to gather on Hornby Island with eight other photographers to shoot, eat, drink and rest. It came at a good time for me: the end of a long winter, with the need for inspiration.
When we all arrived, some of us were strangers, some acquaintances, and some friends. But it didn’t take long before we were all the latter. We were hosted by the lovely and amazing Jennifer Armstrong, her husband and their sweet babe.
What better to do with a house full, than eat and drink and cheers. And sleep in. And cook some more. And share some more. And eat again!
There were potters to visit.
Time to play.
And plenty of um…photo ops. :)
We could have talked more shop perhaps, but instead we laughed and explored (and ate more) and talked about life.

This shot makes me laugh, because at least three of us saw this and shot it. It was all college dorm like.
I couldn’t be more grateful to have been part of such a wonderful weekend. Here’s to Hornby. And here’s to next year! xo
