What better way to ring in the new year than to sit around a campfire drinking champagne? With this in mind, we headed north to Quadra Island to end 2010.
The first night, we enjoyed the usual fresh oyster shots. Nothing like oysters right off the beach…
We spent lots of time in the amazing sun. It was cold, but the sun shone for us the entire time.
We raced…
And hung out at the beach…
And when someone started to get grumpy…
…we knew the remedy…
As always, there was work to do.
But we were sure to make time for some of this…
As mentioned, the sun shone for us all weekend. But there were still plenty of opportunities to take advantage of what the cold brought us.
We visited neighbors…
Then finally settled in around the fire with our champagne and rung in the new year.
I can never get enough of Quadra Island. I always leave there heavy hearted. Whatever the season, it brings relaxation and rest and much needed outdoor and family time. It was hard to leave and return to every day life. But still, I will cherish the memories of this trip, and begin 2011 with the memories of a fresh, healthy and fun holiday. Happy New Year! xo
I never get tired of seeing your work. Never. And this makes me want to go camping. Thanks for sharing.
omg – Rebecca! These are just fabulous! Makes me wish I had been there…every single shot! The rooster on the head is probably one of my all time faves! I’ve never been to Quadra, but I suddenly have a strong desire to go!
Thanks Becs…the photos capture the weekend! It’s always great to have you there and share in everything that Quadra offers.
Lots of fantastic pics…I’ll pass them on to the neighbours!
xo
T.
As usual your pictures make me smile.
Where to start…so many great pics! Love the ones looking up at the trees.
SOOO fantastic! Damn, but you have an eye! xo
Wow! thanks for sharing your trip. I have a few fav’s…. the mother daughter silhouette is hand over heart a gorgeous moment, I’m a firm believer that chocolate (esp combined with peanut butter) solves many problems (esp related to grumpiness.. just sayin’) and the rooster on the head– my first thought was don’t poo! and let go of my hair ahhhh. Seriously, the experiences are there in stillshots and I feel transported to the very moment. Happy New Year!
Our New Year’s eve at the lake pales in comparison. Love all the shots…the cold, crisp beach and the cold crisp champagne!
Next year…Quadra!
great, fun, beautiful series of moments captured, rebecca. Glorious. And gorgeous. I love, love, love the shot of the 2 kids holding the ice & the silhouette shot in the kitchen. Totally yum.
